yasyaikāmśena vidhrtā jagatī jagatah pate

(Shrimad Bhagavatam 10.65.28)

Translation

[Goddess Yamunā said:] Rāma, Rāma, O mighty-armed one! I know nothing of Your prowess. With a single portion of Yourself You hold up the earth, O Lord of the universe.

The Supreme Personality of Godhead, Krishna, is the fountainhead of all incarnations. Lord Balarama is His second body. They are both one and the same identity. They differ only in form. Balarama is the first bodily expansion of Krishna, and He assists in Lord Krishna's transcendental pastimes. He is the source of the entire spiritual world and is the adi-guru, the original spiritual master.

He assumes five other forms to serve Lord Krishna. He Himself helps in the pastimes of Lord Krishna, and He does the work of creation in four other forms called the catur-vyuha (four armed) forms known as Vasudeva, Sankarshana, Pradyumna and Anirudha. He executes the orders of Lord Krishna in the work of creation, and in the form of Lord Sesa He serves Sri Krishna in various ways. In all the forms He tastes the transcendental bliss of serving Krishna. No one can approach Krishna without first getting the mercy of Baladeva."

"Lord Shree Kṛṣṇa who is known as Govinda is the Supreme Lord of Lords. He has an eternal blissful spiritual body. He is the origin of all. He has no other origin and He is the prime cause of all causes.  This is stated by Lord Brahma in the Brahma Samhita (5.1).

īśvaraḥ paramaḥ kṛṣṇaḥ

sac-cid-ānanda-vigrahaḥ

anādir ādir govindaḥ

Sarva-kāraṇa-kāraṇam

Lord Shree Kṛṣṇa is the exalted Supreme entity having His eternal name, eternal form, eternal attribution and eternal pastimes. His eternal beautiful heavenly blue-tinged body glowing with the intensity of ever-existing knowledge has a flute in both His hands. He is the root cause of all causes who are the predominating and predominated agents of the universe.

In Shreemad Bhagavad Gita (4.9), the Supreme Lord Krishna says,

janma karma ca me divyam

evaṁ yo vetti tattvataḥ

tyaktvā dehaṁ punar janma

naiti mām eti so ’rjuna

“One who knows the transcendental nature of My appearance and activities does not, upon leaving the body, take his birth again in this material world, but attains My eternal abode, O Arjuna.”  

One who can understand the truth of the appearance of the Personality of Godhead is already liberated from material bondage, and therefore he returns to the kingdom of God immediately after quitting this present material body. Such liberation of the living entity from material bondage is not at all easy. The impersonalists and the yogīs attain liberation only after much trouble and many, many births. Even then, the liberation they achieve – merging into the impersonal brahma-jyotir of the Lord – is only partial, and there is the risk of returning to this material world. But the devotee, simply by understanding the transcendental nature of the body and activities of the Lord, attains the abode of the Lord after ending this body and does not run the risk of returning to this material world.

Though there are many incarnations of the Supreme Lord Shree Krishna, he is the swayam Bhagavan.  In Shreemad Bhagavatam (1.3.28), Shreela Suta Gosvami says,

ete cāṁśa-kalāḥ puṁsaḥ

kṛṣṇas tu bhagavān svayam

indrāri-vyākulaṁ lokaṁ

mṛḍayanti yuge yuge

All of the other incarnations are either plenary portions or portions of the plenary portions of the Lord, but Lord Śhree Kṛṣṇa is the original Personality of Godhead. All of them appear on planets whenever there is a disturbance created by the atheists. The Lord incarnates to protect the theists."

The Ecstatic Celebration of Shree Nandotsav

Shree Nandotsav marks the day after Janmashtami, when Nanda Maharaja and the residents of Braj ecstatically celebrated the appearance of the Supreme Lord in their home. The air is filled with immense happiness, traditional singing, and dancing to welcome the divine child. Everyone is invited to submerge themselves in this ocean of transcendental joy, where a grand feast of sweets, dairy preparations, and various offerings are distributed to celebrate the ultimate good fortune of Nanda Baba and Yashoda Maiya.

Hare Krishna!

tapta-kāñcana-gaurāṅgi rādhe vṛndāvaneśvari

vṛṣabhānu-sute devi praṇamāmi hari-priye

""I offer my respects to Rādhārāṇī, whose bodily complexion is like molten gold and who is the Queen of Vṛndāvana. You are the daughter of King Vṛṣabhānu, and You are very dear to Lord Kṛṣṇa.""

We celebrate the appearance of Shreemati Radharani as Radhashtami. About 5000 years ago, Shreemati Radharani appeared to Shree Vrishabhanu Maharaj and Shreemati Kirtida mataji, when Lord Shree Krishna appeared in Shree Vrindavan Dham to perform His pastimes. 

Lord Shree Krishna is the total embodiment of love of all the living beings. One can have a loving relationship with lord Shree Krishna  as faithful servant, sincere friend, affectionate parent or passionate conjugal lover. He unfailingly reciprocates. 

The young Gopis of Vrindavana were so much attracted to Him that they could not imagine life without Him. Foremost among those Gopis was Shreemati Radharani- the eternal consort of Lord Shree Krishna and the most exalted devotee as well.

She is His Shakti or ‘Potency’.  She expands herself as the Queens of Lord Vasudeva (including Shreemati Rukmini  and Shreemati Satyabhama) as well as Goddess Lakshmi, eternal consort of Lord Shree Narayana and ably assist Him in His pastimes. She is the mother of the universe, the spiritual mother of all souls. 

Without the mercy of Shreemati Radharani, it is extremely difficult to revive our transcendental relationship with Lord Shree Krishna.

When we chant the Maha mantra, the word ‘Hare’ refers to Shreemati Radharani!! We pray to be engaged in the spiritual service of the Lord.

Health permitting, devotees can fast till noon and honor feast prasadam, chant extra rounds of Maha mantra and be Happy!!
